Fellow
entrepreneurs , let me introduce myself.
I have launched my first startup company
in 1987 and since then I have founded and/or
contributed to found several startup companies
in the venture capital and biotechnology
sectors. I
have a thorough knowledge of the heights
and lows of launching and managing startups.
This
property, totally independent, is my latest
creature and its mission is to assist you
on your road to success.
I
have only one advice (in addition to the
many suggestions you will find in this property)
to offer to all you entrepreneurs out there
in the world "wild"
web.
My advice
Research
your business idea thoroughly, plan carefully
assuming that the worst will happen during
execution, choose the best team you can
lay your hands on (even if they are smarter
or more experienced than you are!), develop
effective communications tools to deliver
your story to venture capitalists, and,
in the event you succeed in getting funded,
stick by your convictions and execute with
ferocious determination!
Launching
and growing new businesses is a bloody affair
and you will need all the obstinacy that
you are capable of. The road to success
will be littered with booby-traps and land
mines. Do your best to avoid them , but
whatever happens, keep going! Don't stop..
if you do, you will never recover. Keep
going until you reach....total failure or..
wild success. Success is inside you .. just
waiting to surface. Remove all obstacles
in the way .. except the family, which has
to have your highest attention and priority
over anything else. Don't be a fool: commercial
success is not worth the pain you may inflict
upon your loved ones in the process! Success
is a relative term. Be wise enough to know
its limits and pitfalls.
In
my book, success is being able to create
new jobs, enjoy what you are doing, getting
thrilled in opening new markets, technologies
and avenues which benefit not just you but
others as well. Success is that wonderful
feeling, after a hard day's work, in knowing
that you have made other people happy with
what you are doing.
Sounds
like a lot? Not at all! It is just plain
common sense. If I were to condense all
the above in one phrase I would say: act
and defend your business as a father/mother
does with his/her children: lots of love,
cool head and fierce territory defense.
Sorry
that I got carried away. But this is what
I truly believe to be the right recipe.
Also for you.
Good luck
and enjoy your visit.
